How mutations affect value

One mutation at a time Each crop can carry exactly one mutation at a time.
Value uses more than the multiplier Final crop value depends on base price, physical size, quantity, and the mutation multiplier.
Random and harvest rolls exist Some mutations can come from random growth or harvest chances, while others need weather or event triggers.
Special seeds matter Gold Seed and Rainbow Seed chances should be kept separate from normal weather rolls.
Pet modifiers need context Some pets can influence mutation chances, but that belongs in planning only after checking the current pet ability.

Mutations not usable yet

These mutation names are not calculator options yet. Treat them as future names, not current planning values.

Veil Unreleased Listed at 50x with Shadow Dragon as its source, but neither is currently obtainable, so it is not a calculator option. Wiki
Secret Unreleased No usable player trigger is available yet, so it is not a calculator option. Wiki
Solarflare Unreleased Listed as unreleased; do not plan crop value around it yet. Wiki
Pizza Unreleased Listed as unreleased with a Pizza Moon note; wait for a usable trigger before planning values. Wiki
Chained Unreleased Listed as unreleased with a Chained Moon note; wait for a usable trigger before planning values. Wiki

Weather and moon triggers

Lightning 5 minutes Can apply the Electric mutation to crops. Wiki
Rainbow 5 minutes Boosts the chance to receive the Rainbow mutation and grants a temporary movement item. Wiki
Snowfall 2 minutes 30 seconds Can apply the Frozen mutation to random crops. Wiki
Starfall 2 minutes Can apply the Starstruck mutation to random crops. Wiki
Aurora 2 minutes Can apply the Aurora mutation to random crops. Wiki
Sunburst 5 minutes Can apply the Ignited mutation to random crops. Wiki
Eclipse 2 minutes Starts only after harvesting an Eclipse Bloom and can apply the Eclipsed mutation to random crops. Wiki
Blood Moon 2 minutes Applies the Bloodlit mutation. Wiki
Gold Moon 2 minutes Can spawn Gold Seeds randomly, can give Midas's Luck so the first steal becomes golden, and can strike a plant so it and nearby plants turn Gold. Wiki
Rainbow Moon 2 minutes Can spawn Rainbow Seeds randomly, can give Star-Powered so the first steal becomes rainbow, can strike a plant so it and nearby plants turn Rainbow, and has a small chance to spawn a rainbow pet. Wiki

Mutation questions

GAG2 mutation list Use this GAG2 mutation list to compare multipliers, weather triggers, moon events, and calculator inputs before valuing a crop.
Grow a Garden 2 mutation multipliers Use multipliers as planning inputs after checking the current trigger. A multiplier can change the calculator result quickly.
Grow a Garden 2 Gold mutation Gold is useful when you are comparing special seeds, random chance, pet support, and moon event timing.
Grow a Garden 2 Rainbow mutation Rainbow should be compared against Gold and Bloodlit because the best choice depends on multiplier, trigger, and crop protection risk.
Grow a Garden 2 weather mutations Weather-triggered mutations need event timing and duration checks before you plant expensive crops around them. Check Aurora and Sunburst here before using the calculator.
Unreleased mutation names Unreleased names stay out of the calculator until there is a usable in-game way to trigger them.

Mutation planning checks

Start with base value A strong multiplier on a very low base value crop can still be weaker than a smaller multiplier on an expensive crop.
Check the trigger Gold and Rainbow can involve special seeds, random chance, weather, moon events, or pet support, so keep each trigger separate.
Protect the result A valuable mutation result can become a night stealing target. Use defense notes before leaving it exposed.
After updates Compare the trigger and multiplier again before planting expensive crops around a mutation.

Use mutation pages after every major update. Multipliers and triggers can change the best crop plan quickly.

The calculator uses the same mutation list, so this page explains the trigger context before players apply a multiplier to a crop plan.

The best way to read this mutation list is as a trigger map. Some mutations are event-driven, some depend on special seeds, and some can involve random or pet-supported outcomes. Mixing those paths together makes the table look simple, but it can mislead players who are trying to decide what to plant next.

Use the multiplier as the final step, not the first step. First check crop base value, harvest type, seed price, and whether the crop is replaceable. Then check whether the mutation trigger is realistic for your session. Only after those checks should the calculator multiplier decide whether the result is worth selling, holding, or protecting through night.

Weather-linked mutations need extra caution because the event window can be short. If a valuable crop is not already planted when Starfall, Aurora, Sunburst, Snowfall, Lightning, Rainbow, or Blood Moon appears, the opportunity may be smaller than the multiplier suggests. That is why this page links weather and calculator pages together instead of treating mutation notes as an isolated list.

FAQ

Questions players ask

What are Grow a Garden 2 mutations?

Mutations are crop effects that can change value through a multiplier and usually depend on weather, moon events, special seeds, random rolls, or pet support.

Should I always chase the highest multiplier?

No. Start with base crop value, seed cost, trigger difficulty, and defense risk before using the multiplier as the final calculator input.

Where should I check Aurora in GAG2?

Start with this mutation list, then check the weather page before applying Aurora as a calculator multiplier. Aurora is useful only when the event timing and crop value fit the same session.

Does this page replace in-game checking?

No. It is a planning guide. Check mutation behavior in game after updates or event changes.
